Glacier National Park
For our honeymoon I took my bride backpacking to Glacier National Park in Montana. Had a wonderful trip! The plan was to backpack from the east side of the park to the west. Eight full days. However, forest fires began a week before our wedding in West Glacier and the Ranger would only allow us 4 days of the 8 I had planned. It turned out to be a great backpacking adventure anyway. The other 4 days we spent in Calgary and rafted the Kananaskis River, just west of Calgary. Another great ride!

We did get some smoke from the fires in West Glacier, but it only lasted a couple of hours.
My favorite camp of the whole trip. Stoney Indian Pass.
Latrine at Stoney Indian Pass. No actual outhouse. Just a latrine in the open so you can view nature!
Ranger Station at Waterton Lake. This was our last day. Then we headed to Calgary.

Kananaskis River, Canada
This river is just west of Calgary and it was all we had time for. I had previously done the Kicking Horse River in Yoho National Park a couple more hours west of here, a couple of years before. It was definitely the best ride I ever had. If you ever want to raft a wild river, try the Kicking Horse! Click here to view other rafting trips.
Suited up before getting on the bus that took us to the Kananaskis River.
